College Football: Trojans to conquer Huskies in Pac-12 showdown (October 9)

College Football action kicks-off tonight as Steve Sarkisian coaches against his former team for the first time when #17 USC hosts Washington in a Pac-12 match-up at the LA Coliseum. Sarkisian spent five seasons as coach of the Huskies before departing after the 2013 season and the Huskies replaced him with Chris Petersen, who hotly pursued the USC gig. Trojans’ senior quarterback Cody Kessler has been spectacular through four games by completing 73 per cent of his passes for 1297 yards, 15 touchdowns and just one interception. The market has been dead even all week but we’re super-keen on the Trojans to score a big win here. Confirmed bet: Washington Huskies @ USC Trojans -17 (one unit @ $1.94).

NFL: Colts hoping for a lucky break (October 9)

The Indianapolis Colts are hoping Andrew Luck will be back under center when they visit the struggling Houston Texans on Thursday night (Friday morning AEDT) in an AFC South match-up. Luck missed the first game of his career in last week’s 16-13 overtime win over Jacksonville due an injured right shoulder, but Colts coach Chuck Pagano said his quarterback is “trending in the right direction”. Our NFL preview for this game will be posted once Luck’s status is decided – more here.
