Confirmed bets

Hamilton R4 #1 Chicago Miss (win) – the 2kg claim of Jake Bayliss is telling for this 5yo mare, which looks a rock solid chance in this 0-58 rating handicap over 1600m. She’s won just one of 19 for Bill and Symon Wylde but was a narrow runner-up last time out over 1700m at Warrnambool on January 13.

Scone R5 #3 Don’t Tell Linda (win) – Jan Bowen’s 3yo filly looks ripe to break her maiden after only five starts in this 1600m event. She’s fourth-up and has improved with each run, culminating with a second to Trick at Newcastle over 1400m on January 11. Greg Ryan should steer her home from barrier 5.

Ipswich R3 #9 Vi’s Reign (win) – another maiden that looks ready to break through, this lightly raced 4yo mare has placed at two of her four starts. She’s enjoyed a well-spaced first preparation for Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn and is coming off successive placings on her home track.

Moonee Valley R1 #8 Averau (win) – Damien Oliver will need all the favours from the outside barrier from the 2040m start, but this 4yo mare has class on her side. She’s down to mares grade here and up in distance on her last start fourth over 1700m in a 0-78 race at Flemington on January 11.

Canterbury R4 #6 Stolen Kisses (win) – the speed will be on in this 1100m sprint, which will suit Gerry Harvey’s 4yo mare, trained by Guy Walter and ridden here by Kerrin McEvoy. She was third first-up at Randwick on New Year’s Day in a BM70 and finds nothing tougher in this field.

Harness racing tip: Melton R8 #5 Quick Draft (win)

Greyhound racing tip: Cannington R5 #3 High Recall (win)
